Information about the Los Angeles Turners

The Los Angeles Turners were founded 1871 when Los Angeles had a population of about 6,000.  The German word "Turnen" means gymnastics.  And so athletics combined with German culture was always the goal of the Turners who had several members take part in Olympic games.

  • Oktoberfest

  • Christmas celebration

  • Turnfestival

Anniversary:

In September 2001 the Los Angeles Turners celebrated their 130th Anniversary with a  Gala Ball.  On this occasion actor Eric Braeden became an honorary member of the Los Angeles Turners.
